How to Send Money through the UPI App without the Account Number
This article is particularly interesting for those who send money from a bank account a second time.
Now you can send money to anyone without knowing your account number through mobile banking app
Just imagine that you do not need to know the recipient’s 16-digit account number and IFSC code of the bank.
Let’s see what all this is?
What is the Unified Payment Interface?
Indian National Payment Corporation (NPCI) launched the Integrated Payment Interface or the UPI on August 25, 2016.
Unified Payment System (UPI) is a platform that will add bank account number to a virtual payment address or surname.
In simple words, the UPI is a payment system that will allow its users to transfer money between two bank accounts using a smartphone.
However, the unique thing about this system is that you can transfer money without typing the recipient’s bank account number, credit card details, IFSC codes and even net banking passwords.
In addition to transferring money, the UPI can be used for many other things. We will see this later in this article.
How Does the UPI Work?
Before I tell you how you can get started with the integrated payment interface, you need to know how this particular system works.
If you have an account with the UPI Partner Bank, you can download the app on your smartphone to make the transaction.
Whether the transaction person or the person for the ecommerce, the receiver will have to share only the virtual address or ABC @Iccbank or mobile number number ICIC BankBankInstandard shared bank account number or IFSC code.
Once downloading the app, create a virtual payment address, set a PIN, and link to any account of the bank with the UPI pattern.
Before I tell you a step-by-step guide, you need to know what you can do with the UPI payment system.
- Off course you can transfer money to your friends and relatives. The minimum transfer amount is 50 rupees and maximum is 100,000 / -.
- You do not even need a bank account number and IFSC code to pay for the same payment as immediate payment service (IMPS).
- You can also pay cash on delivery.
- You can make transactions to merchants on physical and ecommerce stores.
- The UPI system will allow the dealer to cash settlement in real time.
- Finally you can also give utility bills and insurance premiums with this system.
Step by Step
Now from the initial point of view, we see how you can download the app and start using it.
Step 1: You can download and install the UPI app from the Google Play store or Apple Store for any UPi enabled bank. It is not necessary that you have to establish a bank where you have an account.
Step 2: You have to login and make VPA (virtual payment address). VPA is a nickname that will be like ABC @BanName or you can use your mobile phone number as a nickname.
Step 3: Now add your bank accounts or accounts (depending on the number of bank accounts you want to add). The added bank accounts should be from 21 percent mentioned in the next paragraph from the participated banks.
Step 4: Now you have to create an M PIN which is basically a security code that will prove the transfer of funds.
Step 5: You have almost completed and you can start sending money through this UPi enabled app by entering the person’s VPA.
So you have to follow these 5 steps to get started.

Although I have already mentioned the advantages of this system at the beginning of this article, but I want to mention it once again. You do not need the recipient’s 16-digit account number or the 11-digit IFSC code to send money. You send it through virtual id.
Benefits of Unified Payment Interface–
Although there is no major loss to the UPI system but there are some concerns. The first is that if your bank account is in a bank other than 21 banks with pattern with the UPI system, then you probably have to wait for long periods. No bank is launching its app for the Apple Store. In the end, there are concerns about security issues and what transaction charges they will settle in the coming days.
